Shard of a Perfect World
There are two kinds of gods which inhabit creation, local and celestial. A local god is essentially the spirt/caretaker of a location. A local god might have a great deal of control over and care deeply about what happens in her particular forest or river, but has little to no sway in the world at large. Local gods have a reputation as petty creatures, easily upset by minor misfortunes and highly susceptible to bribes in the forms of either sacrifices or worship.
Celestial gods on the other hand are humanoid avatars of universal concepts. From the storm mothers to the gods of charity, these powerful beings spend most of their time competing in the Games of Divinity in Yu-Shan, the city of the gods.
